The Valencian Community only generated 19% of its energy from renewable sources in 2021. This figure shows that renewable energies must be urgently promoted as opposed to the more traditional ones, especially if we take into account that the Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to close in less than 10 years.

In fact, this plant represents more than 40% of the energy generated each year by the Valencian Community. The combined cycle (gas) stations would be in second place, with 25% of the energy generated. If we compare this data with respect to the Spanish state as a whole, we will see that we are far behind in renewable energies, since this represents 47% of the energy generated.
