In late February, Ecovidrio and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition of the Generalitat Valenciana presented data recovery of glass containers in 2022. In total there were 113,820 tons of packaging waste (22.3 kilos per inhabitant), equivalent to 12.1% more than in 2021.
The Valencian Community recycles more glass than the average for Spain because the national average per capita stands at 21.3 kilos. The main source of recovery was the selective collection through the green container, where 94,247 tons were deposited.
