A sustainable tourism development project in the native Urbaite-Las Pilas Community of Nicaragua was the focus of an online meeting that took place on Wednesday, November 17 between the team of the Interuniversity Chair of New Green Transition at the University of Valencia and institutions of the Central American country.
The meeting, which lasted almost two hours, set out the project objectives, in which the criteria that should guide the green transition in tourism must be taken into account, as well as the activities to be carried out. schedule and conditions for submitting such projects. Representing the Chair, Aurora Pedro, director of the UV Chair and project coordinator, took part along with Elena Mut, member of the Chair Committee and Javier García-Gómez, professor of Environmental Education. Also present were representatives of the degree in Tourism from the National University of Nicaragua in Managua, such as Lisseth Gabriela Castro Soza, coordinator of the Degree in Sustainable Tourism at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua UNAN-Managua, or Ángela Rosa Mungía, director of the Department and vice-dean of the Faculty of Education and Languages of UNAN-Managua. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Biometepe Cooperative, from the island of Ometepe.
