The Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) is supporting over a hundred projects across Spain, allocating 635 million euros from the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. Vice President Teresa Ribera highlights the success of aid programs CE Implementa 3 and 4 (where the Valencian Community has been granted 2 and 1 projects respectively), along with H2 Pioneros 2. The first program focuses on funding energy communities, while the second emphasizes the promotion of Green Hydrogen.
More than 50.8% of the electricity demand will be covered by renewable sources this year, according to Ribera, showcasing the effectiveness of the supported projects. The momentum includes funding for 12 renewable hydrogen projects and 77 energy communities in various regions, emphasizing innovation and citizen participation.
These initiatives, managed by the IDAE, signify a significant step towards sustainability, creating jobs, reducing pollution, and enhancing energy security throughout Spain. The country’s commitment to transitioning towards a greener future is evident in the successful implementation of projects that set benchmarks in the fight against climate change.
