The team of the New Green Transition Chair at the Polytechnic University of Valencia co-organised, together with the General Directorate of Institutional Coordination of the Second Vice Presidency of the Generalitat Valenciana, a training session aimed at the staff of the Autonomous Administration on the Environmental Impact of Public Policies: Application of the principle of not causing significant damage to the environment (DNSH).

Last Thursday, June 23, a training session on the environmental impact of public policies and the application of the principle of not causing harm to the environment (DNSH Principle) took place in the Auditorium of the Administrative City Nou d’Octubre. On this day, Lucía Cobo, Advisory Member of the Commission for Monitoring the DNSH Principle of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), addressed the way in which this principle must be incorporated into the development of the planned actions in the
Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).

The contents of the day included:
• Environmental criteria in public policies.
• Obligations of the principle of not causing harm to the environment (DNSH principle) and climate labeling within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
• Application of the DNSH principle to the legal instruments for implementing the Plan: Tools and steps to follow. Clauses and contents of design, execution and monitoring of the principle.

The conference was organized by the General Directorate of Institutional Coordination of the Second Vice Presidency and the Chair of New Green Transition at the UPV, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).

The activity was aimed at the staff of the Generalitat Valenciana involved in the management of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and the EU Next Generation funds, which include the requirement to comply with the Principle of not causing harm to the environment (Principle DNSH). The event was very well received by the target audience given their interest in the subject and at the end of the event multiple thanks were received for the usefulness of the content discussed.
