The Valencian Government has authorized the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Second Vice Presidency and the Department of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture and the public universities of the Valencian Community to carry out the activities of the new Interuniversity Chair of New Green Transition during the 2020 financial year On July 14, the Second Vice-Presidency signed a framework agreement with the University of Valencia, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Alicante, the Miguel Hernández d’Elx University and the Jaume I University for the creation of the Chair of New Green Transition. The objective is to carry out research, teaching and dissemination activities on strategies and public policies regarding a just ecological transition and the fight against climate change within the framework of the concept of sustainable habitat.

Through the authorized agreement, the subsidy for the year 2020 is used in favor of the different universities to finance the operating expenses of the New Green Transition Chair, in order to contribute to promoting the achievement of the right to sustainable housing and its urban environment within the framework of the governance of the ecological transition and the fight against climate change in the Valencian Community. The Second Vice Presidency and Department of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture will finance the activities for 2020 with a total of 175,000 euros, which will correspond to 35,000 euros for each university.

Universities undertake to carry out, in the first place, an activity of analysis and critical reflection on the change of constitutional / normative paradigm with a gender perspective, as well as the most effective procedures to advance these rights.

It will also facilitate various activities such as: seminars, conferences, contests, exhibitions, studies, workshops, courses; training and university extension activities; as well as other cultural activities that are agreed upon later, related to the subject of the Chair and the Department of Housing and Bioclimatic Architecture.

They must carry out informative work throughout the Valencian territory and through information technology of the activities of the Chair and of the specific topics related to the work of the Chair and the Second Vice-Chair, as well as the publication of those writings that may be of interest to both.

In addition, the different actions that are agreed to be carried out within the program of activities to be developed, approved annually by the Joint Commission, will also be disseminated.
